T|S University™ - Web Training on CMS
In Europe this spring, Taylor|Sprules' lead programmer Alexis
Torreno took on a new role, that of lead trainer. Throughout two multi-day training sessions,
Torreno guided an international classroom of managers through the steps
they need to maintain and update the changing content needs of their
respective websites.
During the past year, Torreno and the T|S Web team configured a content
management system (CMS) for an enterprise website. CMS is a tool that
allows managers to change and update content elements without requiring a
knowledge of coding and without disrupting established design of a website. This means
that Brand experience remains visually consistent at all times.

The T|S team uses a tool called OpenCms (http://www.openCms.org)
to fulfill
the content management needs of clients with extensive websites.
OpenCms is a professional level Open Source Website Content
Management System. As an "open source" application, it is completely free
of licensing costs, making it very cost effective over the long term.
Using an intuitive WYSIWYG editor similar to well known office
applications, a content manager can quickly change content, while adhering
to the format of various templates. This guarantees a consistent corporate
page layout and structure within the site. It is particularly powerful because it
helps to create and manage complex websites easily without the traditional barriers, such as the requirement for
deep knowledge of HTML etc.
